JD Aviation offers courses for both beginners and qualified pilots
For beginners JD Aviation can offer either the Light Aircraft Pilots Licence (LAPL) or the Private Pilots licence (PPL).
Following licence issue, JD Aviation can also do the Night Rating and the Instrument Rating (Restricted).
For licence holders wishing to progress to a commercial licence, JD Aviation offers the Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL), the Multi engine rating (MEP), and the Competency Based Instrument Rating (CBIR).
JD Aviation also has a resident examiner to renew or revalidate all these ratings.
Merseyflight
Merseyflight is a UK Civil Aviation Authority approved pilot training organisation based at Hawarden Airport.
We offer:

- Flying Instructor training
- A route to Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) through our UK wide partnerships
No prior experience is necessary to take a trial flying lesson with us or to enrol on one of our ab-initio courses.
Our experienced team of Flying Instructors specialise in delivering high quality, excellent value flight training, and our student pilots benefit from a wealth of state-of-the-art online resources to support their training journey.
We operate a fleet of Piper aircraft which are designed and proven for pilot training and maintained to the highest standards. Our fleet is supplemented by a flight simulator which boasts a fully functional facsimile aircraft cockpit and stunning 180 degree visuals.
Hawarden Airport provides the perfect training base for our student pilots, with unsurpassed aerodrome facilities; including an international airport standard runway, full Air Traffic Control services and is geographically located outside of the restrictive airspace around Manchester and Liverpool.
